History, but make it memes: which era gives you the best jokes?
TUREFF• •0
This is where the past meets the punchline. Share memes about empires, inventors, monarchs, battles and the strange little footnotes textbooks skip.
The best history jokes usually reward knowing a bit of the story, so a short explanation under your post helps everyone learn something. A few conversation starters:
- Which period is the richest source of humour: ancient Rome, medieval Europe, the Joseon court, the space race?
- What is a real historical event so absurd it barely needs a caption?
- Which historical figure do you think would have been great at posting online?
- Is there a myth everyone repeats that you would like to gently correct?
One request: punch at the powerful and the ridiculous, not at victims of tragedy.
Post a meme with context, argue about the details in the comments, and come chat about your favourite rabbit holes.
