Ancient empires, local histories, everyday life in the past, turning points and forgotten figures: this space is for anyone fascinated by how we got here.
Ideas to start a thread:
- A historical figure who deserves to be better known
- Historic sites you've visited and what they taught you
- Common myths about the past that simply aren't true
- How your country's history is taught compared with others
- Objects or technologies that transformed ordinary life
Please cite sources where you can, and separate established fact from interpretation. History looks different depending on where you stand, and good-faith debate is welcome. Post essays, questions and old photographs on the board, and continue the conversation in the chat.
