Getting better at talking to people, one conversation at a time
TUREFF• •0
Small talk, making friends as an adult, joining a group without feeling awkward: these are skills, and skills can be practised. This room is for learning them together.
Nobody here is expected to be a natural. Some questions to start a helpful thread:
- How do you keep a conversation going when it starts to fade?
- What are good ways to meet people after school or in a new city?
- How do you recover gracefully after saying something awkward?
- Which listening habits make people feel genuinely heard?
It can also help to share small wins, like finally chatting with a neighbour or speaking up in a meeting.
Post a situation you want help with or a technique that worked for you, respond with encouragement in the comments, and use the chat as a low-pressure spot to practise.
